The sun was beginning to set around them and a bright pink hue filled the sky. Chad looked up and saw a single bird floating through the sky. He pointed it out to Michael, who looked with disinterest on what was a very common sight.
“You know, birds don’t fly.”
“Really? ‘Cause it sure looks like that one is.”
“But see, as it moves it doesn’t flap its wings more than once or twice. It simply trusts the wind to keep it up and allows itself to be carried wherever the current takes it.”
“I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean, but I sense you’re trying to get really deep.”
“When you go through life you recognize that God is in control, not you, so you find yourself falling into freedom. It’s like you’re falling away from the earth and into the clouds.”
“So, you’re saying that we’re all flying through life like birds?”
“No, birds don’t fly, they fall upside down.”
